Statement II: Exarch condition is the most common feature of the root system.

In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below:

Endarch and exarch are the terms often used for describing the position of primary xylem in the plant body.

Primary xylem is of two types protoxylem and metaxylem. On the basis of relative position of

protoxylem and metaxylem in the organ the arrangement of primary xylem can be endarch or

exarch. Exarch type of primary xylem is seen in roots. Therefore, Statement I is false and

Statement II is true.
